Prof. Chiara Dall'Asta complements the FFoQSI International Advisory Board

02/2024. At the turn of 2024, the renowned Italian professor of food chemistry, Prof. Chiara Dall'Asta, joins the International Advisory Board of FFoQSI GmbH.

Chiara Dall'Asta
Full Professor of Food and Drug (University of Parma)

I'm mainly interested in food safety, natural compounds, plant-based novel food, innovative methodologies in risk assessment and public health.

My primary research interest is in the field of natural toxins and bioactive compounds, with a focus on the formation, stability, and biotransformation of mycotoxins, and on the chemical mechanisms underlying their toxicological activity. Recently, I've embraced the application of HR-MS metabolomics/system biology to the field, and I've enlarged my scientific interest in the field of food fraud, through the application of advanced nontargeted methodologies (i.e. i.e. imaging-MS, ion mobility MS, ambient MS) to food fingerprinting and markers identification.
