"Umwelt.Wissen" Days for Kids 2024
Interactive FFoQSI-station
02/2024. Numerous school classes visited the interactive FFoQSI stand as part of the Umwelt.Wissen Daysfor Kids from February 13 - 14, 2024, which took place for the sixth time at the BOKU site in Tulln.
The Umwelt.Wissen days offer school classes the free opportunity to get a taste of university life at an early stage. 28 exciting workshops and many interactive stations arouse enthusiasm for environmental and natural sciences. At the FFoQSI stand, children and young people were also able to slip into the role of researchers and experience science up close.
Where does our food come from?
The pupils explored this exciting question at the interactive FFoQSI station. They had to assign numerous products to their fields of origin. Do peanuts grow above or below ground? They had to find out that and more. Afterwards, a large shopping basket of fruit and vegetables was waiting for the children to examine their origin and sort them according to their travel distance. Who would have thought that blueberries were flown from Chile to Austria!
