Post Doc Duo
for scientific coordination
09/2023. In fall 2023 the two junior post-docs Dr. rer. nat. Alexandra Schamann and Dr. rer. nat. Patrick Mester will start their broad range of tasks at the FFoQSI Competence Center.
The scientific coordinator team Alexandra Schamann and Patrick Mester support the FFoQSI Competence Center with scientific work in the field of development of new hygiene concepts, hygienic monitoring methods as well as the verification of food safety. One field of activity is, for example, the use of modern analytical methods for the identification of previously unknown compounds that can be formed in food production.
They are the contact person for the submission of project proposals and take over the supervision of master students and pomov students. In addition, they represent FFoQSI at scientific meetings and with corporate partners.
About the researcher Alexandra Schamann Dr. rer. nat. Alexandra Schamann studied nutritional sciences at the University of Vienna and already specialized in the field of "food quality and safety". During her PhD at the Institute for Safety and Quality of Fruits and Vegetables of the Max Rubner Institute in Karlsruhe, she investigated the mycotoxin biosynthesis of molds as part of a German-Kenyan partner project. Building on this, she will now work at IFA-Tulln on, among other things, the identification of mycotoxin degradation products during food production. |
